With this option, the greenhouse gas assessment is excellent. The planting of fast-growing trees in degraded forests and the plantation of trees in the farming plots should allow a decrease of gas emissions by 18 540 tCO2equivalent per year. Over the span of 20 years, the project should enable a decrease of greenhouse gas emissions by 370 800 tCO2eq.

This result should grossly compensate for the emissions of the Malagasy families of the region. The annual emissions of 1 000 families of 7 people each are estimated at 1 000 tCO2 equivalent. This planting activity would also compensate the annual emissions of 3 813 French citizens (4.6 tCO2 eq/year on average*)
